Most creators never repurpose a winning video before that window closes — not because they don't want to, but because manual content repurposing takes 20–40 minutes and nobody has that time while the momentum is live.

I built content repurposing automation that catches a winner the moment it crosses a performance threshold and turns it into two platform-ready drafts in 15 seconds — while the video is still trending, while the hook is still resonant, while there's still time to ride the wave on LinkedIn and Instagram.

The Core Insight

Most creators take that signal and move on to the next video. I wanted to capture it and extract it into every other platform automatically — and do it fast enough that the timing still matters.

The breakout video already has everything needed. The transcript is the copy. The hook text is the headline. The scene structure is the format. The only work left is translation — same substance, different container, different audience register.

Format Instructions Per Platform

LinkedIn

150–300 words. Professional angle. Hook written to work standalone — LinkedIn cuts the first line before "see more." Same insight, reframed for someone reading between meetings.

Instagram

150 words. 10 hashtags. Tone matches the platform. Hook front-loaded, context in the body, hashtags at the bottom. Conversational register, not professional.


The Calendar Layer

The calendar page shows the full week, color-coded by platform. LinkedIn posts in one color, Instagram in another. At a glance: what's scheduled, where the gaps are, what's sitting as a draft.

If LinkedIn or Instagram goes 5+ days without a scheduled post, a coverage gap warning fires — not a soft suggestion, a visible alert that says this platform has gone dark with an unscheduled draft that could fix it.

An unscheduled drafts sidebar shows every generated draft not yet assigned a date. Drag-assign to any day on the calendar. No separate scheduling tool. No copying between apps.

The coverage logic runs continuously. Generate a draft on Monday, don't schedule it, hit Friday with nothing on LinkedIn — the warning is already there.


Why Gemini 2.0 Flash

Speed and cost. This runs on a click — the user expects near-instant output, not a 30-second spinner. Gemini 2.0 Flash handles two simultaneous generation tasks in parallel and returns both in under 15 seconds at a cost that makes per-click economics work.

The quality bar for repurposed content is also different from original research-backed articles. The source material is already validated. The model's job is translation, not generation. Flash handles translation well at the latency this requires.


Phase 4: The Insights Layer

What This Changes

What I'd Build Next

Automated threshold triggering. Right now the repurpose button appears when a video crosses a threshold. The next version fires automatically — no button needed. Video hits the threshold overnight, drafts are waiting in the unscheduled sidebar by morning.

Thread and carousel formats. LinkedIn carousels and X/Twitter threads are high-performing formats that require structured output, not a single block of text. The repurpose engine should handle both — carousel slides as individual chunks, threads as numbered sequences.

Performance-based threshold tuning. The threshold that triggers repurposing should adjust based on what's worth repurposing. If TikTok videos under 50K views consistently underperform when repurposed to LinkedIn, the threshold should move. The system should learn what's worth the pipeline.
